As a child, he had been tormented relentlessly—mocked as Slick for his unnaturally greasy-looking hair. He took offense to the name and vowed to make them regret it. From that moment on, he worked relentlessly, determined to become the most feared shrew in all of Kalazaar.

His rise began under Brebian, studying magic until he had learned everything his mentor could teach. But when Brebian could no longer offer him the path to greater power, Borlden turned to Nalecht’s banner. There, he gained access to the largest collection of magical texts and recorded spells, pushing himself to pinnacle five.
