Welcome to Lore IRL!
On this particular page I will be experimenting, making, tasting, trying, and sometimes even providing at my author tables, foods and items conceived from the world of Shattered Divinity. Or the Kalazaar universe, so to say! As the world will be ever expanding, I plan to continue to add dishes from the original trilogy and subsequent future works! This is a project I've actually been working on for a little while, experimenting with some foods and finding everyday things that inspire me to create something from the world of Shattered Divinity. Most recently, my oldest daughter's wedding was the inspiration for one such dish that will be added and consumed within one or more of the future books I have planned. Don't worry, I will give full details and explanations on why the dishes are named like they are, along with a brief rundown of what's in them. Also, to be fully transparent here, when I cook, I don't typically measure anything. I just start putting stuff together in a pot, a pan, an air fryer, the oven, and most recently an Insta-Pot, then hope for the best. So I'll give you my best guess estimations for “how much” of one thing or another I used! Please feel free to reach out if you have tried these, attempted to make them, or if you have an idea yourself for a dish that would be Kalazaar inspired. I would absolutely love to bring it to life! Or, you bring it to life, and I would definitely consider adding it to the official Lore IRL page!
Tethered Hearth Soup
Named after the Velkarin form of wedding, the Tethering, this soup derives its name from leftovers. After the ceremony, and subsequently large feast afterward, whatever is left is thrown into a pot and cooked into a soup to be enjoyed for days after the celebration. Both to honor the newlywed couple, and to not waste anything valuable.
Though as a culture, Velkarin people look down on the idea of tethering themselves to another person, most of them considering the union weak, or giving oneself a way to be exploited.

Ingredients for Tethered Hearth Soup
Precooked chicken- I used 2 leg quarters, use how much you want!
Celery- 2 stalks
Carrots- 3 sticks
Broccoli- roughly 1 head
Snap peas- about 2 handfuls
Onion- 1 medium onion
Garlic- 3 cloves
Fresh jalapeños- I used 2, but would recommend more if you like the heat, wasn't much spice or flavor with just 2
Chicken broth- about 8 cups
Water- maybe a cup
Black pepper- creator discretion
Heavy Cream- 1 cup
Parmesan cheese- about a cup, after the pressure cook.
To cook this I put all these ingredients in the Insta-Pot (8 quart) then added the chicken broth/water. I put way to much in the first time, cause as the veggies and stuff cook, they shrink, leaving you with a pile of liquidy soup. So if you like the liquid heavy soup, then go for it, if you want less liquid, I'd go six cups. Set pot to high pressure, for five minutes, let is slow release for about 10 minutes then open the vent valve to release the rest of the pressure. As the warning label's DO NOT OPEN THAT LID UNTIL IT IS DONE RELEASING PRESSURE PLEASE! BAD THINGS HAPPEN!
After you release the pressure and take the lid off, add the cup of Parmesean cheese (more if you like it that much) the heavy cream and give that beast a stir, let it simmer for another 5 minutes and BAM! Delicious dinner/lunch ready to roll! Enjoy!
Kelindra's Confetti Mash-Up
Kelindra’s Confetti Mash-Up was derived from Kelindra herself. The dish carries many of her own personalities. She is bold, she is colorful, and she is brimming with excitement and joy. This dish embodies that fullness.
The flavors blend together well to give it that royal feel, with plenty of vegetables and two different meat choices to round out the palette. The pepperoni adds a small hint of spice that really rounds out her personality, especially when someone she cares about is threatened or being hurt.
Seen more as a support character for most of her days, Kelindra loved helping her mother, sister, Leper, or anyone else with whatever task they were trying to complete. Whether it was cooking, making medicinal vials, tending to crops, or cleaning up the castle, she was always eager to help. And she always brought up the energy levels of everyone around her.
So when the cooks asked her to help make something she could call her own? She didn’t waste a second before creating her own mash-up of ingredients!

Ingredients for Kelindra's Confetti Mash-Up
Smoked sausage- 1 whole link
Pepperoni- about 2 cups
Egg noodles- about half a bag
Broccoli- roughly a head
Cabbage- half a head
Carrots- about 3 stalks
Celery- about 3 stalks
Onion- one large onion
Garlic- 3 cloves
Beef broth- 6 cups
Black pepper- your call
Italian seasoning- again, your call, I used 2tblspn
This one was a little simpler, throw everything in the Insta-Pot, set to high for 5 minutes, let is slow release for about 10 then release the rest of the pressure. Again. DO NOT TAKE THAT LID OF BEFORE THE PRESSURE RELEASES! BAD THINGS HAPPEN.
After the pressure releases, throw the egg noodles in there, give it a whirl and let it just stew in there for a solid 5-10 minutes or until you can see the noodles have absorbed the broth! This one was hands down one of the best ones so far!
